Disability and Life Insurance

Our contract requires employers to pay for important protections for members experiencing unexpected life events, including sickness or injury. These benefits provide members and their families with security, peace of mind, and financial stability even when a member cannot work.

Short- and long-term disability

Short-term disability benefits, also known as sick and accident benefits, provide financial support to members who are unable to work for a short period of time because of illness or injury.

Long-term disability benefits provide additional support for longer periods of sickness or injury.

These benefits are intended for situations in which a member is sick or injured for reasons unrelated to work. For workplace injuries, Workers' Compensation may apply.

Life insurance

Life insurance provides financial protection for members' families in case of a member's death or dismemberment.
